Upon arrival, my room was not as expected. I had specifically booked a beachfront bungalow but was placed in a standard garden bungalow, far from the beach. There was no communication regarding this change, which was incredibly disappointing, especially since I booked well in advance. The cleanliness was also a big issue, with the bathroom presenting an unpleasant odor and the overall upkeep being quite poor.

Communication about room availability could use significant improvement!!! Nighttime noise from nearby bars can be disruptive for lighter sleepers!!! Consider adding better ventilation in the bungalows!!!

during my last trip to koh tao, i enjoyed my stay at mama o chai even more. the beachfront bungalow was cozy and clean, with a lovely view and refreshing breeze.
